This game probably has the laziest set of trophies I've seen. Particularly for a $30 game. Just v trophies all tied to beating the game on different difficulties. That'due south information technology lol.
You can tell this was a quick port with little endeavour to bringing it up to date other than a resolution increase.

This is so irksome.

This game probably has the laziest fix of trophies I've seen. Especially for a $thirty game. Only 5 trophies all tied to beating the game on different difficulties. That'due south it lol.

So, this is basically a "PS2onPS4" game without being in the aforementioned category/program and double or triple price increment?

Wow.

Probably just trying to proceed true to the original.

We really shouldn't purchase information technology for this price. I wish it was bundled with the second game, and then it'd be a dissimilar story.

  • #256
$30? I was expecting both 1 & 2 with that price. I'll look for a sale.
cw_sasuke
  • #257
All these price complains are a bit weird to me - my get-go reaction was to be very happy about this game being playable on electric current systems and getting a modern version. Second thought, the price is a chip high just i accept no issues to wait a couple months on a sale - trouble solved.

Ill never sympathize the obsession with needing to play or ain every game the second its released, especially for re-releases. Always complaining about why pub/dev X dont bring dorsum classic game x - simply to then mutter about basic things like the price, in a industry where ninety% of the games are on sale within a couple months.

At least nosotros can play this on mod consoles, not getting information technology at 30 tho

  • #259
I think when people replay this they'll see why they shifted the genre with the reboot. I did honey them back in the twenty-four hour period, just on a recent replay I thought it was very braindead (though still fun). And I played with my non-gamer girlfriend on hard difficulty.

30€ for a direct port? LMAO

and I loved, LOVED, this and CoN. Simply gtfo.

Also, in one case yous realize you lot can simply circle every enemy and cheese the whole game... these games don't concord up imo, too braidead with no challenge.

At $ten on a deep sale

While probably not a fantastic port, I think it would exist factually wrong to merely call information technology a direct port because there have been changes fabricated.

You can tell this was a quick port with piddling effort to bringing it up to appointment other than a resolution increase.

This, 30 dollars, no online coop (WTF), barebones "upgrade" if you tin can telephone call it even that... WTF is all this shit.

And I loved playing this back in the ps2 era too.

Too, once you realize you can just circle every enemy and cheese the whole game... these games don't concur up imo, too braidead with no claiming.

Yes, I remember just circling enemies, while chipping at their health bar until they died. That's why I'k wondering if these games have held up.

Back and then they were loads of fun, but it'due south non similar we had other options on consoles.

I wish we saw more 'quick ports'. I want to see all my favourite classics brought to electric current gen systems and I really don't need everything to be a Shadow of the Colossus style remaster.

I don't mind the effort but 30$ is too much.
Only skilful for people that want to play it.

And so, this is basically a "PS2onPS4" game without being in the aforementioned category/plan and double or triple price increase?

Wow.

No, it's 4K and has been fabricated widescreen. But in terms of what people would expect for a 40 dollar port, it'southward not cracking.

I like Baldur's Gate DA just fine, but they're insane to inquire that price for information technology.

It feels steep, but those games are RARE. $30 is way less than I've been able to see for it, particularly with information technology beingness difficult to emulate well. Piece of cake twenty-four hour period 1 pick for me.
  • #270
Played this to decease with an old friend back on release. Got the best weapons and equipment over 2 or 3 playthroughs of New Game+. It was an amazing game dorsum then but I'm not certain information technology's worth $30 for what seems like a very basic port. Fifty-fifty the achievements are as basic as they get.

Are you lot me lol.

Literally you said everything I was gonna say.

They are so tonally off with this new entry as all their main readership (of the Companions at least) are similar 30 years old and not into the edgelord vibe this game is putting off.

I remember the genre is fine (hack northward slash) but they need to lose the camera shake and ridiculous licenced music, which I can merely pray/presume is reserved for the trailers.

Like I've played every FR game and read every Salvatore book (and other FR authors) only will be seeing how this reviews.

If it gets like a "6/10 dotterel fun" rating I'm in. Ownership crusade it'll hopefully be decent coop, but honestly by and large purchasing in hopes we get future (better) efforts with the FR IP.

Lol, well I saw their Twitter presence ostend you tin plow off the camera shake, although that doesn't change much for me.

Ah y'all're right, totally forgot that the native 1080p of these PS2 games were the big thing back so and not 4K. Well that plus 16:9 is at least something then, but still as well expensive. Should have been 20.

"Rarity" is a meaningless notion (and something bluntly ridiculous to appeal to) when it comes to digital distribution.

The PS2 version was 480 - though it was 1 of the first games to support component cables to give 480p. Was really the kickoff game I saw on my PS2 component cables lol

So 4K is a big jump!

Edit: ah you lot might have meant for PS2onPS4

Aye exactly, the PS2onPS4 games. Forgot the boost for them was only to 1080 and not 4K. 😅

I'd be at that place day one for $15ish.

For $thirty+ I'd expect some kind of improvements across framerate/resolution. 😬

"Rarity" is a meaningless notion (and something frankly ridiculous to appeal to) when it comes to digital distribution.

It makes sense to examine the market value of a game to determine the toll of digital distribution. The market value is currently dictated by rarity, so it makes sense to me.

Tin can't believe in that location are some people in this thread saying the $30 isn't a big deal and just wait for a auction. For but $10 more we got a complete remake of two Tony Hawk games with a new engine and new features. $thirty for a 20 yr old game with basically the resolution set higher is robbery. I think they underestimated the popularity of the 2 Dark Alliance games, and much more than endeavor should have been put it.

I think they overestimate the popularity of the new game. Game looks wearisome as hell to me, wouldn't be surprised if it volition exist a massive flop.

So if suikoden 2 got a digital release information technology should exist $400?

Dangit I really wanted to dive into this with my son later today for some good ol' couch co-op, merely now I'm soured with the lack of endeavor that was put into this port. I may still buy it, just because I'm desperate for a skillful co-op game right now.

To be fair, I remember I'd sooner pay £xxx and only get this than pay £35 for the new i, so in that sense, I'chiliad happy about the whole situation.
I mean, I'm Non gonna buy it at this cost, considering my PS2 copy works just fine, merely as a greenbacks grab, I'grand happy it exists at least, and for people who've never played it in the 19 years since release, or who, like me, played information technology dorsum in the twenty-four hour period, I'm sure they can wait another month or 2 for a sale on a rerelease that I'd wager 99% of people here simply learned existed around 24 hours agone lol.

It does amuse me when things like this happen though: in that location are ever people proverb "oh I'd pay full toll for a remaster of my favourite game from the PS2 gen and before", and on the rare occasion it happens, people Always complain haha.

I echo what others accept said: I loved both DAs and Champions games, merely a low-effort port like this isn't day one for me. Shame as information technology's these games that got me into Diablo iii.

Someone seems to take gameplay up on Xbox Series 10:

The video compression isn't helping, simply the texture resolution appears to exist worse than the PS2 version in a number of places.
Some animated lights likewise seem to be affecting objects and characters, but not the environment (has a big impact on spell furnishings). EDIT: Looks like this may have been fixed past the recent patch(es).

What a few nuts are willing to spend on the inflated cost of an old game, are in no way indicative of what your average person is willing to pay.

They're banking on nostalgia and it's going to flop at that price.

  • #296
Never played this before, I know people love information technology.

what makes the game special? Is it just that it was a expert couch co-op action RPG on console at a time when there weren't that many?

Eh, the greed of these people rushing shit ports that are non even faithful to the original fabric.

In the in a higher place footage I institute shocking how the game was thought with 4:3 screens in mind, now in hallways half the screen is a grey area.
